COVID-19 Important Information

During this challenging time, BCS is actively monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency as it begins to affect many communities worldwide. Since this is a fluid situation with new information emerging very quickly, we have been actively working with our customers and business partners to ensure that there is as little disruption as possible. Our insurance companies, BCS Insurance Company, 4 Ever Life Insurance Company, and 4 Ever Life International Limited, are working in cooperation with state and federal governments to provide special attention and arrangements that meet COVID-19-related health care demands and concerns.

COVID-19 News for Our Health Insurance Customers

Preparedness – We are open for business and available for customers. We are prepared to continue servicing our customer’s insurance needs, including inquiries and service issues without interruption or inconvenience.

Information Access – We are closely monitoring activity around COVID-19. We are committed to helping our members, staff, and communities we serve stay informed and assisting those who might be affected. We will continue to update our websites and other communications to provide important information as it becomes available.

COVID-19 Testing – We are committed to helping reduce financial barriers to testing for COVID-19. Our major medical health plans will allow for COVID-19 testing and testing-related visits and services without cost sharing by our customers. The deductibles, coinsurance, and copays in our customer’s major medical policies will be waived for COVID-19 testing and testing-related services. Telehealth Services – COVID-19 is a contagious disease. We encourage all of our customers to adhere to social distancing guidelines until it is determined that in-person medical visits are appropriate. We encourage all of our customers to use the telephone to avoid unnecessary contact. Many of our insurance products include access to telehealth services by phone, web, or video. If your plan includes access to telehealth, we strongly encourage you to use it.

Prior Authorizations – In some instances, our major medical plans may require prior authorization for some services. We have eliminated all prior authorization requirements relating to COVID-19 testing.

Prescription Drug Access – We have temporarily lifted restrictions on early filling of prescriptions. We encourage use of pharmacy by mail if your coverage provides this service.

Access to Network Providers – If your coverage has a provider network and access to it is not reasonably available for COVID-19 services, benefits will be paid at the in-network rate of payment.

Immunizations – We will follow the guidelines set by federal or state regulation.
